Residents of the Happy Valley-Goose Bay area are being reminded that timber salvaged from Muskrat Falls that has been set aside for domestic use is only available from the wood yard near Lower Brook, 32 kilometres west of Happy Valley-Goose Bay.
The Department of Fisheries, Forestry and Agriculture is hearing of people taking wood from other yards in the area, which is not permitted.
There is no limit to the amount of timber that can be taken, but a permit is required and it must be used only for domestic purposes. Permits are free and available from the North West River Forest Management Office or the Happy Valley-Goose Bay regional office.
