The Crown is seeking 18 months jail time for a man who sexually assaulted a resident of the Bay Roberts Retirement Home.
The submission was made Tuesday during the sentencing hearing for 44-year-old Christopher Power of Brigus.
Power was found guilty in October of sexual assault. He also pleaded guilty to forging and presenting false documents.
It was in August of 2020 when a staff member walked in on him as he was fondling the genitals of a sleeping elderly male resident.
Power was a personal care attendant but had forged papers to pass himself off as a licenced practical nurse.
His lawyer has proposed a sentence of six months total for all of the offences
Power remains free on conditions pending sentencing on January 10.
