The 5th annual tree lighting in honour of Cortney Lake is set for this afternoon at St. David’s Park in Mount Pearl.

The 24-year-old woman disappeared after being picked up by a former boyfriend in Mount Pearl on June 7th, 2017.

RNC say she was the victim of homicide, but the sole suspect in her death was found dead himself a few months later.

Lake’s family is asking people to wear their masks and bring along a non-perishable food item.

The tree lighting takes place at 5:00 p.m.
