Two new Newfoundland and Labrador-led Ocean Supercluster projects are in the works.
Canada Ocean Supercluster has announced two projects worth over $3.5 million dollars combined.
The first will see $3.1 million go towards implementing an Offshore Connected Worker Project.
The project involves using digital and automated technologies to help offshore installation operators remotely monitor human activity, conditions and operations.
It will be led by Horizon Maritime and Allswater Marine.
The second will see $471,000 go to the Crisis Intervention and Operability Analysis for Digital Ocean Operations Project, which will develop safety and reliability assurance of critical ocean systems.
The project, led by Energy Research and Innovation Newfoundland and Labrador and partnered with MUN, will establish a framework methodology to adopt digitally-enabled operating models.
