Friday marked the deadline for government employees to be fully vaccinated and compliance has been very high.
The provincial government provided the update yesterday.
Finance Minister Siobhan Coady says over 99 per cent of core government employees are fully vaccinated, 98 per cent of those working at agencies, boards and commissions and the province’s schools are compliant while 97 per cent of those in the health care system are fully vaccinated.
Health Minister John Haggie broke the numbers down during yesterday’s unscheduled COVID update.
He says of the 19,965 employees of the four regional health authorities, 75 will not be taking the vaccine, and another 91 are partially vaccinated, and “will be able to resume their work once they’ve had their second shot.”
