The provincial government has released the results of what was heard during consultations on the Premier’s Economic Recovery Team Report.
The report indicates that 96 per cent of public survey respondents either somewhat or strongly support increased accountability and transparency within government.
According to the report, while most public respondents supported the adoption of a mandatory reporting framework and salary transparency across all of government including unions and non-profit organizations, those recommendations received some opposition from stakeholder groups.
Recommendations related to industry and the green economy received moderate support from both the public and stakeholder groups.
Concerns were expressed about recommendations to deliver more efficient health care services, spending cuts, tax and fee increases and the reconfiguration of assets.
