Visitor restrictions are in place in hospitals and long-term Care homes across the province.
Two designated visitors and one support person are allowed for hospital patients and residents of long-term care homes, personal care homes, community care homes and assisted living facilities.
Hospital patients can identify two designated visitors and one support person – if necessary. The same is true of residents of long-term and personal care homes.
Those who must visit Emergency under Alert Level 3 are asked to consider the necessity of bringing a support person to outpatient appointments and emergency visits.
Meanwhile, families are asked to discuss visitation with health care providers for loved ones in palliative care.
