It has been a rough couple of years for some service clubs and community organizations who have had to pivot because of the pandemic and, in some cases, do things differently.
The Elks Lodge celebrated its 90th anniversary this year, put a COVID plan in place and, before the latest wave struck, completed their Christmas raffle.
Lodge spokesperson Bevin LeDrew says despite challenges, they have actually enjoyed a very good year, both in terms of fundraising and membership.
Money goes to the Single Parents Association, the Gathering Place, and the Boys and Girls Club, while food was donated to the Community Food Sharing Association.
They also attracted some 40 new members.
