The COVID Alert App that Canadians were once encouraged to download to help with notification of possible exposure remains active in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Health Minister John Haggie cast some doubt on the status of the COVID Alert App at the last live COVID briefing earlier this week, but the Department of Health has since been assured that the app is active.
The Department says the app is a useful tool to help with rapid case identification, but is not always used by public health officials depending on the circumstances surrounding contact tracing.
