The move to Alert Level 4 amid a surge in COVID cases is another blow for team sport in the province.
Sport NL Executive Director Troy Croft says while the provisions laid out under Alert Level 4 are clear, some questions remain, particularly as they apply to privately-run sport organizations.
He says the guidance is clear about limiting team sporting activities to one-on-one sessions, but some private operators believe they are able to operate their programs differently.
That is fine, says Croft, as long as other programs can provide the same opportunities, which are points on which they’re seeking clarity.
