A St. John’s man charged last week with murder had his case called and postponed in provincial court today.
20-year-old David Quirke is accused of second-degree murder in the death of 42-year-old Rayna Dove.
Police were called to a house on Cookstown Road just before 6 a.m. on the morning of December 27th.
Inside they found Quirke — and a woman who died at the scene, after reportedly being stabbed.
Quirke was arrested and remains in custody at the Bishop’s Falls correctional centre.
His lawyer, Derek Hogan, asked that the case be postponed until January 20th, at which time he hopes to set a date for the preliminary inquiry.
