The province’s first plastic bottle refill station opens today.

This is Earth Day – celebrated in 193 countries around the world to promote environmental awareness.

The Natural Vibe, a downtown business, is marking the occasion with the grand opening of Newfoundland’s first Eco-Refill Station to help cut down on the use of plastics.

The store will refill shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, dish liquid and laundry soap bottles.

The Natural Vibe’s goal is to help lower plastic consumption but to show people that small steps can make a huge difference on environmental impact.
