The Mayor of Grand Bank is remembering Deputy Mayor Clayton Welsh, who passed away last Friday after a battle with cancer.
Rex Matthews describes Welsh as a friendly, high-energy person who was always willing to go the extra mile to help someone.
He says Welsh was a member of numerous committees and was very involved with the community. “He didn’t stop,” says Matthews.
He says Welsh’s passing is one of those losses that “takes the good right out of you,” noting that he was an outstanding volunteer in the area.
A funeral service for Welsh will be held at the Grand Bank United Church tomorrow at 2 p.m.
