The city of St. John’s is providing an update on the construction of the Mews Centre replacement.
The $33-million facility is expected to open in the fall of 2023.
The city says construction is “starting to take shape.”
Most of the footings have been placed, retaining walls have been poured, and the concrete pool walls have been completed.
Underground infrastructure such as water, sanitary, and storm lines, as well as electrical cables have been installed.
They say the next major milestone in the project will be putting up the first steel beams when the weather allows.
Meanwhile, the adjacent inclusive Canadian Tire Jumpstart playground is nearing completion and is expected to open mid-summer.
