A St. John’s man facing a slew of drug and gun charges has pleaded not guilty.
27-year-old Brandon Tobin was arrested in late March after police found a handgun, ammunition, half a kilo of cocaine and other drug-related items in a city home.
He was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, and a long list of weapons offences, including careless use and unsafe storage of a firearm, possession for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon, and others related to illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.
On Wednesday, the court heard there are numerous witnesses and experts expected to testify at the trial, which was set for seven days in October.
Tobin remains in custody
