The Lantern Festival is making its return after a two-year hiatus.
For the first time since the pandemic, the Friends of Victoria Park are bringing back the Lantern Festival in the west end of downtown in St. John’s.
For 20 years, people have been lighting up Victoria Park in the unique celebration.
In line with Come Home Year 2022, a full day of activities starts in the afternoon with local musicians, face painting, games of chance, lantern jar making workshops and more planned.
At dusk, festival-goers can join in the procession for lantern installation in the upper part of the park, where fire jugglers, dancers, fire breathers, and acrobats will perform.
The event kicks off July 30.
