Two murder cases will be back before the provincial courts Wednesday morning.
27-year-old Sheldon Hibbs is charged with second-degree murder in the death of 68-year-old Michael King.
King’s body was found on a trail next to Waterford Valley high school in the west end of St. John’s on May 30th of last year.
Police have said there is a link between Hibbs and King, but it’s believed to be an isolated incident.
Hibbs, who remains in custody, is scheduled to enter pleas and elect a mode of trial.
Meanwhile, the preliminary inquiry starts Wednesday for 21-year-old David Quirke.
He’s also charged with second-degree murder in the death of 42-year-old Rayna Dove on December 27th.
The homicide occurred in a multi-unit home on Cookstown Road in St. John’s.
The inquiry, set down for three days, is conducted to determine if there’s enough evidence to proceed to trial.
