A memorial service is being held in Gander this afternoon to mark the 21st anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the United States.
The town is asking residents interested in attending this afternoon’s church service at Evangel Pentecostal Community Church to register ahead of time as capacity will be limited.
Mayor Percy Farwell says the US Ambassador to Canada, David Cohen is in the airport town for a few days to take in some of the memorial events.
The service, which begins at 4:00 p.m. will be live streamed through rogers.com for those who are unable to attend in person.
