Four missing hunters were located safe and sound after being reported overdue from a boating trip Sunday evening.

RCMP and emergency responders were notified around 2:00 a.m. Monday when the hunters failed to return home as expected.

The Hopedale Ground Search and Rescue Team and the Joint Rescue Co-ordination Centre were involved in the search along with area volunteers.

The group, who had decided to stay put for the night due to heavy fog, did not have a way to communicate their change in plans.

They were located safe at a cabin Monday morning by family members who were helping out in the search.
