A new study at Memorial University is diving into the lived experiences of cancer patients.
Newfoundland and Labrador has the highest incidence of cancer of any province according to Statistics Canada.
Study lead Dr. Sevtap Savas says the study is a follow-up to a previous study into the misconceptions about cancer.
She says this will be a further dive into what the cancer patients experiences were like at home, in the workplace, and other aspects of living with cancer.
Dr. Savas says they are considering a number of variables.
She says one factor they are interested in is how cancer effects members of the 2SLGBTQQIA+ community, as they believe there may be a difference in experience.
