An annual fundraiser in memory of a young girl who lost her battle with cancer returns this week.
Nevaeh’s Lemonade Stand was started by young Neveah Denine to raise money for children like her who were battling cancer.
Neveah lost her battle with cancer at the age of nine, but her memory continues to live through the annual lemonade stand fundraiser and Nevaeh’s Angel Foundation.
Her grandfather, John Denine, says they’ve raised nearly $500,000 to help families dealing with pediatric cancer.
He says any small donation counts as going to work is the furthest thing from someone’s mind when they receive a cancer diagnosis. One year, his own daughter spent over 280 days at the hospital with Nevaeh.
This year’s fundraiser is set to take place at the Paradise Double Ice Complex on Saturday, June 17 from noon until 5:00 p.m. The rain or shine event and will include a number of activities including games, bouncy castles, and of course lemonade.
