Sunwing airlines, known for bringing Canadians to and from popular southern vacation destinations, will soon cease to exist in its current iteration.
WestJet announced that it will wind down the low-cost carrier and integrate it into its mainline business within two years as part of a strategy to streamline operations amid fierce competition.
Julia Kent is Director, Social Responsibility & Advocacy with CAA Atlantic, says airlines are working smarter, not harder. Many have complained of lack of air access in Newfoundland and Labrador but she says lack of choice seems to be a pattern, especially at smaller airports.
