The provincial government is once again reiterating its disagreement with the federal government’s decision to remove the province’s exemptions and bring in carbon tax rates starting July 1st.
In a release, the provincial government says it disagrees with the federal approach which includes the removal of carbon tax exemptions on home heating fuel, municipal operations and intra-provincial aviation.
The province will no longer collect the carbon tax as of July 1, as the federal government imposes its federal fuel charge.

As a reminder, businesses are being reminded that they should no longer charge the provincially administered carbon tax as of 12:01 a.m. on July 1.
Government says retailers should record their inventory of carbon products and they can apply for a refund of carbon tax paid.
