A prominent director from this province has joined a legendary franchise.

Jordan Canning, who previously has directed television episodes of the “Fraggle Rock” reboot and “Schitt’s Creek”, is walking the holodeck as she was hired to direct an episode of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.

Canning’s episode, “Charades”, features Spock becoming human for a short period of time, in a comedic twist on the character.

She says joining the franchise is very special to her. She says she was a big Star Trek: The Next Generation fan growing up and always fantasized about getting to play on the holodeck. She says it was a “dream come true” to be invited into that universe.

Canning says reception to the episode has been great.

Where the post-production process is so lengthy, she has been eagerly awaiting the release of the episode for around a year. She says Star Trek fans having been coming out of the blue to tell her how fun the episode is.
