Police have made an arrest in connection with an assault on Sunday night in Mount Pearl.
The RNC rushed to a residence on Riverview Avenue shortly after 8:00 following a report of an assault. Officers contained the home and initiated communication with the occupants. A short time later, they took a 39-year-old man into custody without incident.
Police continue to monitor the scene as the investigation progresses.
The suspect has been charged with assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. He remains in the lockup.
The RNC is asking anyone who has information to contact them or Crime Stoppers.
