One man has been arrested after a robbery in the Avalon Mall that ended in police shooting their tasers.

Around 6:45 p.m. yesterday, RNC officers were called to a robbery at the mall, and spotted the accused running on Kenmount Road. Police caught up with the 26-year-old, who decided to fight the officers to try and escaped.

Officers shot their tasers and arrested the man.

He now faces charges of robbery, assault with a weapon on a police officer, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and breaching court orders.
