The Newfoundland and Labrador Health and Safety Association is sending condolences after a workplace fatality last week.
On Thursday morning, a worker at the Holyrood site was seriously injured after coming into contact with electricity in the switchyard area. The man, who was in his 60s, died on the way to hospital.
The association says workers at NL Hydro are in their thoughts as they mourn the loss of a coworker and friend.
They also extend their sympathies to the friends and family of the deceased.
An investigation into the accident has been launched by RCMP, Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, and Occupational Health and Safety.
