The Opposition wants to see a plan for the province’s oil and gas industry going forward.

PC Leader David Brazil says while he’s encouraged to hear that Equinor is planning more exploration in the Flemish Pass, the provincial government must work to help minimize any uncertainty for companies involved in offshore oil development.

Brazil accuses the provincial government of sitting on the sidelines as uncertainty grows in the industry.

He told VOCM Open Line with Paddy Daly he wants to see a long-term plan for the province’s offshore oil and gas industry.

“We know where the federal government stands on this… we want to know what the provincial government thinks here.”
