Drug trafficking charges are anticipated against a Harbour Grace man after he was pulled over in Carbonear over the weekend.

RCMP first received a report about suspicious activity involving a vehicle in the area of Adelaide Street on Saturday night.

During the investigation, quantities of suspected cocaine and items consistent with drug trafficking were seized.

The 39-year-old driver, who did not have insurance, was ticketed for that offence and released from custody.

Charges of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking are pending.

The investigation continues.
