A man has been taken into custody after the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary responded to a potential weapons offence in St. John’s.

Shortly after 9:30 a.m. this morning, police took to social media to say they had contained a home on Monchy Street, and closed off the street to traffic during their investigation.

A short time the suspect was taken into custody.

Police say an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
