One international student performer is pursuing his dream to stay in Newfoundland by starting an inclusive theatre and film company.
Santiago Guzmán is originally from Mexico City and has been in Newfoundland for four years completing his BFA in Theatre at Memorial University.
He says as an actor and a queer immigrant of colour living in Newfoundland there aren’t many roles he can identify with, so he wants to remedy that with his new company, TODOS Productions.
He says he wants to create stories with narratives from the perspective of under-represented characters and he’s inviting all artists in the community to participate.
Guzmán is holding a launch for TODOS in St. John’s on Tuesday evening at 5 p.m. ain the 2nd floor boardroom of the Arts and Culture Centre.
