A 75-year-old man is in custody after he allegedly crashed a vehicle into a shed, and set a home on fire in Victoria.
According to the Victoria Volunteer Fire Department, they initially responded to reports of a medical emergency at about 1:00 Thursday afternoon, but were met with a multi-vehicle accident and a structure fire.
The RCMP say that a vehicle had crashed into a shed, and that the nearby home had been set on fire.
Residents of the home were uninjured, and nearby residents were evacuated as a precaution while crews knocked down the blaze.
John Lomond was arrested on the scene without incident. He appeared in court today on charges of arson, assault with a weapon, and uttering threats.
