The federal NDP candidate for St. John’s East, Mary Shortall, has been knocking on doors with a petition to ask the government to speed up their commitment to pharmacare, one she says has been universally praised by her constituents.
She says stories of people without drug coverage continues to mount and that those she has spoken with are highly in favour of the NDP’s petition
Shortall shared that the government had promised to enact legislation for a framework by the end of the year, and that the NDP are in the position to hold the government’s feet to the fire when it comes to hot-button issues.
She says that the NDP supply and confidence agreement with the government allows them to hold the government accountable.
Shortall expressed the need to continue raising strong NDP voices to raise the issues that matter to Canadians.
