Police in Stephenville are investigating an armed robbery at Hi-Ball Bar & Billiards shortly before midnight yesterday.

According to the RCMP, a masked man armed with a knife entered the side door of the business just before closing time and demanded money.

The lone employee handed over the cash drawer, which was emptied by the man.

The suspect then assaulted the employee before fleeing on foot. The employee was uninjured.

The man is described as about 5 feet 8 inches tall with a skinny build. He was wearing a mask, a red and black checkered coat and a black hooded sweater at the time.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
