The moose population management program is now underway in Gros Morne National Park, running through to January 28, 2024.
The program was launched in 2011 as part of a broader initiative to improve forest health by reducing the impact of over-browsing. The moose population in the park is managed through a limited hunting season based on quotas set in three distinct zones. A fourth zone will remain closed for the season.
Opening dates and the boundaries of each zone are posted at trail heads and are available on the Gros Morne National Park’s website.
