The province’s Chief Medical Officer of Health has kicked off the push for the fall vaccination campaign.
Dr. Janice Fitzgerald says, like previous years, they expect to see COVID-19 and influenza circulating at the same time.
To minimize the impacts of those diseases, Fitzgerald is encouraging everyone to get vaccinated for both viruses.

Both of those shots can be received at the same time.
Anyone age six months and older can get the COVID vaccine, so long as it has been six months since the last vaccine or infection.
Those of the same age can also get the influenza shot.
Fitzgerald says vaccine clinics for both flu and COVID will open on Monday, October 16. Appointments can be made online as of October 10. She encourages people to also check with their physicians and pharmacists for additional appointments.
