Holy Cross has repeated as Jubilee Trophy champions in women’s soccer at the Toyota Nationals in Halifax, blanking Quebec 2-0 in the final.
They went undefeated in the tournament with three wins and a tie in the round robin, and controlled the final from the opening whistle.
The goals, by Jessie Noseworthy and Emily Bailey, were set up by Jane Pope and goalkeeper Shannon Galway (MVP) registered her fifth shutout of the tournament.
Last year, they became the first women’s team from NL to win a national Jubilee Trophy title and this year they become the first with back-to-back national championships.
