Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has condemned the weekend attacks on Israel and has also spoken out against recent demonstrations in Canada in support of Hamas.
The PM says the “glorification of violence is never acceptable in Canada – by any group or in any situation.” A major pro-Palestinian demonstration was held in Toronto, drawing condemnation by a number of political leaders, including Toronto mayor Olivia Chow who denounced as “deplorable” the glorification “of this weekend’s indiscriminate violence.”

The Canadian Government has listed Hamas as a terrorist organization.
Pro-Israeli demonstations are also taking place across the country.
Hamas’ attacks appear to have taken Israel by surprise, and has resulted in hundreds of deaths, and hundreds more people, including women and children, taken hostage. Israeli President Benjamin Netenahu says Israel is at war, and vowed that his country “will win this war.”
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau issued a statement on Sunday saying that “Canada unequivocally condemns these terrible attacks in the strongest possible terms” and demanded the immediate release of those held hostage.
To our Israeli friends: Canadians stand with you. And our government stands ready to support you. Our support for Israel is steadfast. Please read my full statement on the recent attacks against Israel: https://t.co/sLifAx4cSc

In light of the recent events in Israel, the #PeaceTower is illuminated in the colours of the Israeli flag, and the National Flag of Canada is flying at half-mast from now until sunset tomorrow. pic.twitter.com/ebfz8pLhdZ
