The premier is heading to the north coast of Labrador next week to deliver apologies to residential school survivors and their families in five Inuit communities and Happy Valley-Goose Bay.
The provincial government came in for heavy criticism when it chose to begin the long-promised series of apologies with an event in Cartwright to members of the NunatuKavut Community Council.
At the time, Nunatsiavut President Johannes Lampe called the decision to start the process with NCC “insulting.”
The provincial government says the delivery of apologies is being carried out with the collaboration of the Nunatsiavut Government and former residential school survivors.
Apology ceremonies are scheduled on November 1 in Rigolet and Postville, on November 2 in Makkovik and Hopedale and on November 3 in Nain and Happy Valley-Goose Bay.
