It’s been an exciting day at the Skills Canada Intermediate Challenge as more than 300 junior high students gather at the College of the North Atlantic in St. John’s today.
Marketing and Communications Coordinator with Skills Canada, Andrew Hepditch says more than 300 junior high students from 21 schools across the province will participate in a full day of events featuring 16 different trades, technologies and employability competitions.

He says it’s the only competition of it’s kind for junior high students.
Most of the competitions are oriented towards high school and post-secondary students but they wanted to focus on junior high students to get them focused on skilled trade and technology careers and get them started on that path.
The event will feature the FIRST LEGO League Robotics Competition.
