Supporters of a proposed wind hydrogen development on the province’s west coast made their voices heard over the weekend during a large rally in Stephenville.
Hundreds of people turned out for Saturday’s rally, with representation from town officials, local businesses, and neighbouring municipalities.
Rally organizer and local businessman Dave White says they’re encouraged by the support.
He says the large number of supporters is important in their push for the project’s approval.
White says wind hydrogen is the future and getting on board now will only help the Bay St. George area down the road.
He says the project will create employment that will allow a number of trades workers to stay in the area. White expects green energy will become the way of the world and says the province has to jump on every opportunity they get to be a part of the industry.
