It’s been a long time coming, but the Shoal Harbour causeway bridge in Clarenville is finally open to both vehicle and foot traffic.
Mayor John Pickett says the completion of the causeway is welcome news, finally bringing an end to the lengthy construction project.
Work to replace the bridge was approved more than a year ago, but the span had been closed to traffic since 2018 after it was deemed unsafe.
Pickett thanked residents for their patience and cooperation.
An official opening ceremony will take place at a time yet to be announced.
