The provincial government is seeing success with its health care recruitment initiatives. That’s according to Health Minister Tom Osborne.
Osborne says a dedicated recruitment office has been set up in the health department, and they are seeing signs of success.
As an example, he says over 130 people have been recruited through the Come Home Incentive, and over 300 registered nurses have been recruited during the current fiscal year.
He says the recruitment office is “moving the needle” not just on recruitment, but on retention as well. For example, he says the vacancy rate for registered nurses is less of a factor now than it was last year.
