Newfoundland and Labrador has its first ride-sharing service.
The provincial government recently changed the legislation to pave the way for ride-hailing services but the first company to set up shop on our soil is not Uber or Lyft but Kabby, which is Newfoundland-based.
Kabby aims to improve the way people move around Newfoundland by providing a seamless rideshare experience.
Co-founder Haris Barki says their services include a user-friendly app, affordable fares, reliable drivers and flexible earnings for drivers.
He says they’re in the process of recruiting and vetting new drivers, and they encourage anyone who’s interested in becoming a rideshare to sign up via the app or reach out to them if they have any questions.
There have been times when it is difficult to get a cab in metro within a reasonable period of time.
