The Minister of Finance says she has reached out to Labour Minister Bernard Davis and asked him to consider appointing a mediator to help government and the Association of Allied Health professionals reach a collective agreement.
The AAHP has walked away from the conciliation process, and says they are now focused on mobilizing their membership and determining the next steps.
Siobhan Coady contends that the offer made to the AAHP is “fair and consistent” with what has been offered to other public sector unions.
She says the proposal includes “generous” wage adjustments, factoring adjustments, recognition of long service, a leadership premium, a signing bonus, and process to address their concerns around fairness and compensation.
