Both pro sports teams in St. John’s were unable to put up a win in their respective games on Friday night.
The Newfoundland Growlers put up a back-and-forth battle against the Indy Fuel. Isaac Johnson tied the game at three a piece late in the third period, but the Fuel fought back and scored two goals as the Growlers lost 5-3.

They two teams rematch tonight at 7:00 p.m. at the Mary Browns Centre.
On the basketball court, the Newfoundland Rogues also lost a close match with the Sudbury Five.
It wasn’t due to a lack of effort, though, as Newfoundland was down by 17 points at halftime.
