The MHA for Stephenville Port-au-Port says his office has not received many calls regarding concerns about the Stephenville Airport deal with Dymond Group.
The company, owned by Carl Dymond, officially took ownership of the airport last summer.
Dymond has indicated big plans for the airport, including hundreds of millions of dollars in investments.
VOCM News has received numerous calls from people with questions surrounding alleged conflict of interest, and a general lack of detail around plans and timelines.
VOCM News has reached out to the Dymond Group for clarification and an update on work at the airport site.
Area MHA and PC Party Leader Tony Wakeham says he is not privy to contracts and purchase agreements, noting that his office has not received many calls from concerned residents, but there has been talk in the community, noting that plans publicly talked about by Dymond that have not yet materialized. Wakeham says they want to see an airport that is fully-used, and jobs created.
