Restaurants Canada are asking people in this province to consider celebrating Valentine’s Week rather than Valentine’s Day due to a snow storm slamming down on eastern Newfoundland.
Valentine’s Day is one of the most lucrative occasions during the down season for restaurants.
Vice President Atlantic Jordi Morgan says the industry is still recovering from the pandemic and the rising cost of goods is making these special days even more important.
He says restaurants are important pillars of the community and margins are thin, so he’s asking people to reschedule their Valentine’s Day celebrations for after the storm.
