The federal Clean Fuel Regulations have, for the first time in a while, filtered on down to the consumer.
Implemented by the Trudeau government three years ago, the regulations made it more costly for suppliers to comply with environmental initiatives.
The Public Utilities Board hired a consultant to determine the financial hit on suppliers, and came up with five cents per litre.
So, gas would have been down by about 5 cents but, given the Clean Fuel Regulations, it essentially remains unchanged from yesterday, meaning that it still sits at $2.09 in metro.
Diesel costs an extra four cents on the island and in Labrador, and all types of heating oil are up slightly province-wide.
