Masking is no longer required in health care facilities in the province.
As of today, masking is no longer necessary in clinical areas in health care facilities for visitors, support people, clients and patients, pending they meet the self-screening requirements.
NL Health Services says if a facility experiences an outbreak, additional masking protocols may be implemented. Visitors or support people should check with the care team for the required PPE.
Those seeking or receiving health care services who are symptomatic must always wear a mask upon entry and while inside the health facility.
Masks will still be available in such facilities across the province for those who wish to wear one.
The public is reminded that self-screening for COVID-19 or respiratory illness remains in effect and people should not visit a health care facility if they feel ill or are experiencing COVID-19, flu-like, or gastrointestinal symptoms.
